Message from the Chair
Dear valued members, friends, and supporters of the Hong Kong Architecture Centre,
As I embrace the role of Chair for the 2025-2027 term, I am filled with immense gratitude and a profound sense of responsibility. This role is a privilege, and I am profoundly grateful for the unwavering support from our esteemed advisors, dedicated board of directors, and dynamic committees. Your guidance and commitment have been instrumental in our journey.
Reflecting on our journey, we have compiled a list of 10 memorable moments to give you a glimpse of our exciting projects:
01 Wan Chai Nocturnal 是.夜灣仔 - a three-day event that attracted over 1,700 participants, offering a unique perspective on architecture and the cityscape along the Wan Chai harbourfront.
02 PEI in China, and beyond - an Archi-Trip to Hangzhou and Beijing to explore I.M. Pei’s contributions in China, complemented by an M+ Curator tour of the I.M. Pei: Life is Architecture Exhibition.
03 Archi-Platform’s thematic series - The Bamboo Architecture series has been introduced to familiarise the public with bamboo theatres and architecture. Additionally, the Zen x Architecture series, spanning two years, explores architectural themes related to life and death.
04 Travelling with You - a collaborative inclusive architectural experience with the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, enabling groups of People-in-Recovery to explore global architectures.
05 Archi-education - our ongoing initiative to foster architectural appreciation within educational settings, offering talks and workshops covering topics from Chinese architecture to pet-friendly urban design.
06 Collaborations - partnerships have been forged to deliver unique programmes, including explorations of brutalist architecture with Brutalism HK, public housing insights with Dr. Rosman Wai and Kongcept, and innovative playscape designs with Our Abstract Playscapes.
07 HKAC Pamphlet - Our comprehensive pamphlet is now available, detailing our programmes and services, and inviting everyone to engage with HKAC.

10 Members’ Exclusive Events - special complimentary events have been organised exclusively for our members, expressing our gratitude for their ongoing support throughout the year.
Looking Forward
As we look forward to this new term, our mission remains steadfast—to promote "Architecture for All." We are committed to enriching the architectural landscape by developing thematic and in-depth experiences that cater to architects and all who cherish built environments and design. This year, we will lead with two major themes: "Zen x Architecture" and "Bamboo Architecture." Additionally, we will launch a public participation project funded by theBuilt Heritage Conservation Fund titled "Our Heritage Schools at First Sight—School|Community|Tour|Appreciation," which over the next 18 months, will collaborate with six heritage schools. In partnership with the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, the "Travelling with You" programme will continue to take participants on journeys to explore global architecture and cultures, promoting an inclusive architectural experience, because "everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the world and beauty of architecture." Keep an eye out for this year's star-studded arch-trips!
An Invitation to Collaborate
We warmly invite all schools, institutions, and organisations to collaborate with Hong Kong Architecture Centre to create unique architectural experience programmes, guided tours, and study trips, emphasising the beauty and significance of architecture in our daily lives. As the first non-governmental organisation in Hong Kong to promote architectural appreciation and bespoke programmes, and as a non-profit organisation where all directors serve as volunteers, your support is critical to our ongoing work and the planning of innovative architectural activities across communities and disciplines. For anything related to urban appreciation, Hong Kong Architecture Centre and our team of architects and architecture enthusiasts are here to help!
Gratitude and Call to Action
We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all members of HKAC for your ongoing support and passion. Your dedication inspires our mission and enables the impactful work we do. I invite you to engage with us further—participate in our events, volunteer, or help spread our mission. Together, we can make architecture a field that is truly for everyone.
Thank you for this opportunity to serve. We look forward to working with you to deepen our impact and reach new heights in architectural appreciation and education.
Warm regards,
Sarah Mui
