HKAC Archi-Talk & Walk : Adaptive Reuse on Historic Building: "The Mills"

Nan Fung Textiles Limited was founded in 1954 during Hong Kong's booming manufacturing era of the 1950's. At the height of its operations in the 60's and 70's, it is a significant contribution to Hong Kong’s manufacturing industry and its dominance in Asia.

Three of the former Nan Fung Textiles Mills 4, 5 and 6 have been transformed into what is collectively known as – The Mills. Taking on the concept of ‘city within a city’ into its architectural and spatial planning, each component within The Mills exhibits its own unique style and purpose while maintaining the interconnectivity between each building.

The Mills is a distinct Hong Kong story and landmark revitalization project. During the tour, Architects Boris Lo, Gary Ng, and Billy Tam will expand on this and talk about the background and how the revitalization project was completed. Do not miss this if you wish to know more about it.
